HOW TO BECOME A PADI SCUBA DIVER?

The 3 steps to certification are …

1. Theory The theory section covers the basic principles of diving which you need to understand for your safety and fun. The theory section is self-study using a digital manual (e-learning) with Instructor assistance as necessary. The theory includes: Read first 3 chapters of the PADI digital Open Water manual and complete the knowledge reviews at the end of the 3 chapters. The chapters include video illustration for easy learning. Complete 3 multiple choice quizzes.

2. Shallow Water In shallow calm water you will learn all about the equipment and basic underwater skills in 3 shallow water sessions. You will also complete a 10 minute swim/float demonstrating comfort in the water.

3. Open Water Diving Put the skills you have learnt into practice and have a whole lot of fun in 2 open water dives, maximum depth 12 m.

Frequently asked questions:

Medical

Diving requires a minimum level of health and fitness. Chronic health conditions, certain medications and/or recent surgery may require you to obtain written approval from a physician prior to diving. We have a doctor on call to answer any questions and who makes the final decision as to who can dive. Any queries please let us know.

When can I start a PADI Scuba Diver course?

We do not schedule set dates for completing a course. You are on holiday! We can complete courses any day except Sunday.

How do I book?

Easy! Simply press the book now button. An inquiry form will come to us and we will organise dates, transfers and answer any questions.

How deep will we go?

The maximum depth for children and adults is 12 m. Divers under the age of 18 must have written parental or guardian consent.

Where will we dive?

You can complete the PADI Scuba Diver course through our dive bases of Rhodes Town, Kolymbia or Pefkos. We will book you into the base closest to your hotel.

How long are the dives?

Training dives have a minimum duration of 20 minutes and an average duration is around 30 – 45 minutes underwater.

What is the visibility and what will we see?

Most days of the year we have great clarity and visibility that reaches 15-20 meters. At the depth where the open sea diving takes place, we meet various species from large or small shoals of Mediterranean fish. Octopuses, cuttlefish, sea urchins, sponges, turtles, shrimp, sea snails, lionfish and more! Please check out our gallery for more.

Is the theory easy?

Of course, it is designed for a 10 year old to understand.

PADI e-Learning enables you to complete all the theory material and the final exam on your phone, computer or tablet from your home or hotel.

Can I fly after diving?

You must leave a minimum of 18 hours after diving before flying.

What do I need to bring with me?
