Learn to recognise and prevent problems, and, if necessary, manage emergencies. During the course in-water training exercises build up confidence and abilities to enable you to handle a range of situations from a tired diver, through search patterns to recovering an unconscious diver. In-water training culminates in a series of accident scenarios giving you the opportunity to put your new skills into practice. The PADI Rescue Diver course is generally considered a must if you plan to dive without professional supervision.

HOW TO BECOME A PADI RESUCE DIVER

The 2 steps to certification are …

  1. Theory

Knowledge Development covers the principles, concepts and terms you need to know for dive safety and enjoyment. The theory part is completed via e-Learning alongside Instructor presentation. Read the digital manual and complete the knowledge reviews at the end of each chapter leading to a multiple choice exam covering the whole manual. In addition you will complete an Emergency plan for the dive site where you train.

  1. In-water excercises

The PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques. Through rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond. During rescue scenarios, you put into practice your knowledge and skills.

Frequently asked questions:

Medical

Diving requires a minimum level of health and fitness. Chronic health conditions, certain medications and/or recent surgery may require you to obtain written approval from a physician prior to diving. We have a doctor on call to answer any questions and who makes the final decision as to who can dive. Any queries please let us know.

When can I start a PADI Rescue Diver course?

We do not schedule set dates for completing a course. You are on holiday! We can complete courses any day except Sunday.

How do I book?

Easy! Simply press the book now button. An inquiry form will come to us and we will organise dates, transfers and answer any questions.

Is First Air traing a requirement?

Yes, the Primary and Secondary Care training within the previous 2 years is a requirement for the PADI Rescue Diver Course.  You can complete the PADI Emergency First Aid course with us to fullfil this requirement. You can complete the PADI Rescue Diver course through our dive bases of Rhodes Town, or Pefkos. We will book you into the base closest to your hotel.

Is the theory difficult?

The PADI Rescue Diver course is designed to make it accessible to everyone, no matter what your preferred learning style is. The program is not just reading (although there is some), you will also be able to learn the theory through video presentations, practical demonstrations and practice and instructor presentations. PADI e-Learning enables you to complete all the theory material and the final exam on your phone, computer or tablet from your home or hotel.
