The Waterhoppers Diving School was the first PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre on the island of Rhodes and has over 30 years’ experience as a PADI school.

Our next Instructor Development Course (IDC) will be held from 4th to 11th April 2023. The Instructor Examination (IE) will be on 12th and 13th April 2023.

The Waterhoppers Diving School offers a fun, friendly, personal and professional service to all our candidates completing the IDC and IE. Becoming a PADI Instructor will lead to one of the most rewarding experiences of your life and open up a wealth of opportunities to you giving you the ability to travel to and work in some of the most beautiful places in the world, starting on the wonderful island of Rhodes. The IDC is not just about passing exams. It is about becoming fully prepared, confident and ready to teach. We make sure that you are ready to embark on your teaching career. We always keep our groups small and personal, maximum 6 per IDC. Our Course Director and Staff Instructors are always on hand to help with all aspects of the IDC. Once you have become a PADI Instructor you will be eager to work within your new role. Outline of the IDC with the Waterhoppers Diving School

The Waterhoppers IDC will be held at the Atrium Platinum hotel in Ixia, Rhodes. The course will run from 8 am to 6 pm each day. The course will be conducted in English. Our Course Director, Norbert Hoeger, is German so we can also accommodate German speakers. Confined and Open Water sessions are conducted in the sea at our dive site of Ladiko. Transport to the dive site is included.

• Dive theory evaluation. The IDC theory is now available online! Prepare well for your IDC! Purchase your online IDC crepwack as soon as you book your course (we can arrange this for you and with the Exclusive option you get a reduced price). Complete all sections of the online learning before your IDC. Familiarize yourself with the PADI Instructor manual and guide to teaching. Revise the five theory topics, Physics, Physiology, Equipment, Dive Skills & the Environment and Diving Knowledge workbook. This is not part of your IDC and a good understanding of dive theory is necessary so prepare well. With the Waterhoppers Diving School Exclusive IDC option you will receive extra practice sessions with one of their experienced Instuctors prior to the IDC.
• Skill circuit and Rescue Diver evaluation (unconscious diver at the surface). Practice these skills in advance. With the Waterhoppers Diving School Exclusive option you will have additional practice sessions with one of their experienced Instructor prior to the IDC.
• Classroom presentations on the PADI system including a workshop on the PADI system, PADI quality control and risk management, legal considerations and the business of diving.
• Classroom teaching presentations.
• Confined water teaching presentations.
• Open Water teaching presentations.

• The Waterhoppers Diving School offers a classroom presentation to assist candidates with completing their cv/resume.
• Candidates will be expected to carry their own professional liability insurance.
