Rhodes, known as "the Island of the sun," is the second largest among the Greek Islands situated in the southeastern corner of the Dodecanese.
It boasts breathtaking secluded coves, serene mountain villages, lush pine forests, and a charming Greek ambiance, making it an enticing destination for travelers.
Rhodes offers easy accessibility from various parts of Europe, pristine waters, picturesque lagoons, and a wide range of diverse dive sites. The water temperatures can reach up to 30°C, adding to its appeal as a rapidly emerging dive hotspot in Europe.
When it comes to diving in Rhodes, the exceptional visibility and deep waters provide an abundance of marine life to explore. Dolphins, turtles, stingrays, and other fascinating creatures are regular visitors to our dive locations. Additionally, keep an eye out for ancient amphorae resting on the seabed, adding a touch of history to your underwater adventures.
One of the most popular dive sites is the colossal 110-meter-long cargo shipwreck called Giannoula K. It has been resting on the southern end of the island for 40 years. Just a short boat ride away from the shore, this wreck sits at depths ranging from 8 to 22 meters. With its spacious open cargo holds and an awe-inspiring engine room, where even the light bulbs remain intact, divers of all skill levels can easily explore this wreck. The excellent visibility at the site makes it a true treasure for aspiring underwater photographers and an ideal location to pursue PADI Digital Underwater Photographer and Wreck Diver specialties.
Located near the charming village of Lindos, which is often hailed as the most picturesque village in Greece, lies another breathtaking dive spot known as Pentanisos (five Islands). Prepare to be captivated by the expansive deep walls, enchanting caverns, vibrant colorful sponges, and the magnificent presence of large game fish that grace the depths of this site.
