What a difference a day can make: 10 Reasons to get Your PADI Certification

Here at The Waterhoppers we are known for making your first breaths underwater super easy, super relaxing and one of the most amazing holiday experiences you can do in one day.

Our one day try dive (Discover Scuba Diving) experience gives you all you need to enjoy scuba diving, but do you know with just one extra day you can enjoy the underwater world for life? Diving the world as a PADI Scuba Diver and if you’re wondering what the benefits are, keep reading.

Here are 10 reasons to move on from PADI Discover Scuba Diving to Open Water Diver:

Why Not Make it official?

PADI Discover Scuba Diving is unforgettable, but it’s not a certification. Once you are a certified diver, you’ll get a world-recognised scuba qualification that never expires.

Want To Dive a Little Deeper?

You already know how incredible the underwater world is — imagine being able to explore even more of it! Going from Discover Scuba Diving to Scuba Diver (2day course) or Open Water Diver (3-to-4-day course) means you’ll be certified to dive deeper, 12 meters for Scuba Diver or 18 meters for Open Water Diver. Giving you the opportunity to do more and see more!

Have More confidence and Control!

PADI Discover Scuba Diving participants must be led by a PADI Professional. On the other hand, as a certified PADI Diver, you can dive in a group where you have control. Making it easier to enjoy a diving adventure with friends and family.

Power-up your knowledge!

PADI Discover Scuba Diving is only a brief dip into the underwater world. So, if you crave more, then becoming a Certified Diver is for you. The course teaches further detailed knowledge and plenty of practical skills, from equipment preparation and buoyancy control and dive planning.

Certified Divers Experience More!

Progressing from Discover Scuba Diving to a Certified Diver, you’ll open the door to many new experiences and courses. You’ll be able to mix diving with other interests, such as photography, fish identification, boat diving, or conservation.

Why Not Protect the ocean!

You don’t need to dive to know our ocean is in trouble. But, being Scuba Certified puts you in the best position to protect it. From Dive Against Debris and coral surveys to seagrass restoration, there are countless citizen science projects where you can make a difference through diving.

Make The Most Of The Opportunity!

During PADI Discover Scuba Diving, you can use the time you have to master some skills of Confined Water Dive and your first Open Water Dive. Then day two you learn a few more skills, then complete open water dive two and then that’s it you’re a certified diver.

Learn When You Want to Learn!

PADI Open Water Diver is designed to suit you. Whether you prefer studying online or in the classroom, at home or on vacation (or a mix of everything!), there are options to work with every schedule. Your progress follows your own pace, whether that’s a few days or 12 months.

Dive Destinations, Make More Of Your Holiday!

Many scuba trips are limited to certified divers. As a PADI certified Diver, you’ll be free to explore the world’s top dive sites, from liveaboards to shore dives. Why not get in touch with us to arrange everything before you arrive.

The First Step In A Scuba Career

You may dream of being a marine biologist, underwater photographer, or scuba instructor. In fact, getting certified is a foundation for many ocean careers and the first step towards becoming a PADI Professional.
