What you will learn during your PADI Deep Diver Specialty course: Course Overview: The PADI Deep Diver Specialty course trains you to plan and execute safe dives to depths between 18-40 metres/60-130 feet. The course focuses on the knowledge and skills required to dive safely and comfortably at deeper depths. Course Content: During the PADI Deep Diver Specialty course, you will learn: 1. The effects of depth on the body and appropriate safety measures * Increased nitrogen absorption and decompression requirements * Managing narcosis and other depth-related issues 2. Planning and executing deep dives * Calculating no-decompression limits and safety stops * Executing controlled ascents and descents 3. Use of specialised deep diving equipment * Proper configuration and use of deep diving gear like doubles tanks * Techniques for carrying and managing additional equipment 4. Emergency procedures for deep dives * Identifying and responding to depth-related complications * Conducting deep water rescues and diver assists 5. Navigation and dive site selection for deep dives * Identifying appropriate deep dive sites and planning dives accordingly * Maintaining orientation and position awareness at depth Upon completion, you'll receive the PADI Deep Diver certification, recognising your ability to safely plan and conduct deep dives within the 18-40m/60-130ft depth range. Course Duration: The PADI Deep Diver Specialty typically involves 2 knowledge development sessions and 2 open water dives. The total course duration is usually completed over 2 days.
